Cardiology Veterinary Technician
The Veterinary Technician supports hospital operations by providing dedicated quality veterinary care and exceptional service to our patients and clients. Cardiology has an excellent relationship with our clients, patients, and referring veterinarians. You will be a key member in maintaining this relationship. The ideal candidate will show a desire to learn and improve on their cardiology knowledge. We offer monthly Cardiology CE and can provide specialized education per individual team member’s desires. We are a flexible, relaxed, and fun-loving group. With a rotating schedule of four, ten-hour shifts a week, we are able to accommodate work life balance with time-off, PTO, and rotating paid holiday days off.
What you'll do:
- Obtaining vitals, blood pressure, ECG, and other monitoring parameters
- Perform in-house laboratory testing
- Medical records
- Provide client education such as discharge instructions, medication dosing and side effects, updates
- Accurately obtain blood pressures using doppler
- Imaging - taking properly positioned radiographs and assisting with echos
- Communicate with other departments to synchronize treatment plans and provide adequate nursing for each case
- Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures
- Accurately obtain patient history from owner and record using SOAP
- Prepare patients for echocardiogram and other radiology procedures
- Performing treatments on hospitalized patients including the administration of medications by various routes
Who you are:
- Registered Veterinary Technician License Required
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Experience in oncology preferred, but willing to train the right candidate
- At Least 1 year in veterinary medicine
- Outstanding attention to detail
